A few years ago I mastered the art of sticking my fingers into my eyeballs and placing foreign objects upon my ocular bits for the sake of beauty. It was a marvelous day. Now if only I could get false lashes to work with me I'd level up, but alas... I digress...
Up until recently most of my circle lens fix has been in the form of 12 month varieties, which are alot sturdier than their disposable counterparts. But the thing is they can be a real pain to travel with, so I thought I'd actually give disposable ones a try.
So while trawling the lens selection on Eye Candys I stumbled across these beauties from Japan.
The Seed Eye Coffret 1 Day Lenses retail for $20.99 AUD on Eye Candys for 5 disposable pairs. They come in three selections: Natural (the pair I purchased), which are a black ring that fades into your natural color; Base Make, a very natural brown circle; and Rich Make which is an rich brown with a lacy circle effect. How I wish that Seed made these last ones in black also! All three have a 14.0 diameter and can be ordered in various prescription strengths. I am Plano Jane-o.
As you can see above, kind of, I have natural blue-grey eyes (hence my regret those Rich Make ones only come in brown). These black edged ones blended extremely well with my natural iris color and gave quite the enlargening effect. What I particularly loved is how much more awake they made me look. The final picture is taken indoors in natural light right in front of my window (those are my natural lashes - see above lol).
Comfort wise I found these to be OK. When I first put them in I swear I could feel the "edges" against my eyeball. No I had not just dropped a trip or hit up the tambourine man, but it was like I could definitely feel them there. But within 15 minutes they had warmed up a bit and felt fine. I wore these for nine hours straight, seven of which in an air conditioned office with no real drying factor. I only applied eye drops once about the four hour mark as I was leaving the office to go outside. I felt they were almost unnoticeable the longer I had them in (so keep that in mind if you wear your lenses out clubbing & are likely to KO when you get home).
I'd totally buy these again, but I still prefer the selection of non disposable lenses.
