The 80s Didn't Necessarily Suck .... Unless You Were a Vampire

LOL, ok so excuse the post title.  I'm in a playful mood.  Just recently I made an excellent bargain buy at our local Warehouse (think Walmart, but redder).  After jokingly telling my fiance I was looking for a Sisters of Mercy CD (which to be honest I didn't think the staff there knew who the hell SOM were), I immediatley found this gem...

The Sisters of Mercy Original Album Series.  So basically five CDs for $19 NZ.  That's a pretty fucking awesome deal, if I don't say so myself.  So purchasing it was a dead giveaway.  So was having First And Last And Always on constant replay for the last few days.  This inevitably got me thinking about how amazing some 80s music really was, so I've decided to share a few of my favorite tracks that have worked their way back into my recent playlist here.

Marian by Sisters of Mercy:  I chose this fan made clip because it's so awesomely done.  Really.

Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus:  OK so technically released in 1979 (the year I was born no less), but still epic won it's way into the early 80s.  Another lovely fan made clip.

Big Hollow Man by Danielle Dax:  Oneday I wanna grow up and be her...

The Passenger by Siouxie and The Banshees:  There's too much to love about this.  Such fun!  (I've been watching Miranda, forgive me)

Neverland by The Mission:  I had this on cassette tape many years back.  I ended up wrecking the tape by overplaying it.  Figures.

Tainted Love by Soft Cell:  Fuck the remakes (I pretend they don't exist), this is awesome.

London Calling by The Clash:  YES YES YES.

One day I'm just gonna make an epic 100 Track Playlist of my favorite songs ever and put it on repeat.  I am guessing I will drive someone insane after about two days... I hope it's my neighbours.
